The Pinson family continues to support the scholarship fund annually.

Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame

The Sports Hall of Fame was started in 1971 in order to recognize amateur and professional athletes and those who contribute to the growth and development of sports.

Each year, new members are added to the Sports Hall of Fame and inducted during an evening ceremony and banquet. In addition to recognizing new Hall of Fame inductees; twelve of Rome-Floyd’s finest high school athletes are recognized. Two of those students (one male, one female) are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and are awarded the John Pinson Jr. Scholarship Award. The evening is made complete by thanking numerous volunteers throughout the community and recognizing outstanding volunteer services.
