RFPRA to Host USTA National/Regional Jr. Championship
The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority (RFPRA) was awarded hosting rights for the National/Regional Jr. Championship scheduled for October 29-31, 2011. RFPRA will host Singles & Doubles 14 & Under and 12 & Under Boys and Girls.
The USTA National Championship (Level 3) will take place at eight different regional locations throughout the country on the same weekend. The RFPRA was chosen as one of eight regional sites to host the USTA National Championship. The tennis matches will be held at three facilities to include Rome-Floyd Tennis Center, Alto Park, and Etowah Park.
Mark Dodd, RFPRA Tennis Coordinator, who applied for this tournament earlier this year said, “This is the first time there has ever been a National Tournament in Rome/Floyd County and we are excited to showcase our facilities and Southern Hospitality for this event.” Mark is already planning for the event and is currently seeking a title sponsor for the tournament.
