July 4th Celebration Salute to Honor America

This annual event is one of the largest events in Rome drawing huge crowds for a night of music, games, giveways, and of coarse- fireworks!
Where: Ridge Ferry Park

The very successful movie event, featuring the popular animated features drew crowds of over 700 people. Join us again this fall where the crowds are expected to grow even bigger. The public is invited to enjoy the excitement of a big screen movie, and the great outdoors all in one. Participants are envited to join us for carnival games, prizes, costume contest, pumpkin carving, food, cake walk, hay rides, marshmellow roasting and an outdoor movie.Coolers will not be allowed.

Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame

A time-honored tradition in Floyd County, the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame recognizes amateur and professional athletes, as well as individuals who have served meritorious and professionals that have made outstanding contributions to the community.  In addition to the Hall of Fame inductees, RFPRA recognize a male and female college bound high school senior in Rome and Floyd County for outstanding athletic, academic, and community achievements.  This is also a time for the staff to recognize numerous community volunteers who have gone above and beyond for parks and recreation in Floyd County.   On March 4, 2008 tradition will continue and this year we are privileged to announce the legendary Vince Dooley will be our guest speaker. The event continues to draw notables and business leaders throughout the local area providing a great opportunity to promote your business to local iinfluentials.
