2013 Info for Runners & Walkers

Welcome all runners and walkers! Here are all the event details:

-GET YOUR GREEN ON! Race through historic downtown Rome and along Heritage Park Trail.
-Wear your St. Patty's Day best to win prizes in the post race costume contests
-Finish with a victory lap around Maddox Track inside Barron Stadium
-Finish line broadcasted on scoreboard big screen
-5K is chip timed by Harbin Clinic Sports Health Foundation
-USATF Certification is pending
-Wear your arm band (provided in race packet) for St. Patrick's Day discounts at restraunts and businesses on Broad Street after the race Get details
-All participants registered by March 10 are guaranteed a T-shirt
-Proceeds to benefit local recreational programs and services

Race/Walk begins at 1 PM

Start: W. 3rd Street outside Barron Stadium
Finish: Maddox track inside Barron stadium

Race packets pick-up: Fri, Mar 15, 2013, 4 - 6:30 pm
Race packet pick-up location: Blue Sky, 109 Broad St.

Course Description: A scenic course winding through historic downtown Rome and along the Heritage Park Trail System. Starting line outside Barron Stadium. Run through downtown Rome on Broad Street; cross the Oostanaula River; finish with a victory lap around Maddox Track inside Barron Stadium. Finish line broadcast on scoreboard big screen. A few hairpin turns. Surfaces include paved road, concrete trails, and rubberized track.

T-shirts
Register by 12 PM on Monday, March 11 to guarantee a T-shirt. Registration will remain open through Wednesday, March 13 until 5:30 pm. Race day registrants are not guaranteed to receive a shirt as pre-ordered shirts are limited.

Largest Group Registration Award: Register your group by 12 noon March 11 to qualify. The largest registered group wins discounted registration for 2013!

Costume Categories & Awards
Presented by Blue Sky Outfitter
Winners will recieve gift card prizes from Blue Sky Outfitter. A total of $500 in prizes will be awarded. Be sure to check out last year's photos for costume ideas. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes in all categories. Hold onto your bib number for costume contest judging immediately following the race.

- Littlist Leprechaun: Most festive youth 12 & Under
- Most Festive Attire: Make us green with envy
- Luckiest Leprechaun: Red beard, green suit and a       mischieviest grin.

Registration Details

Pre-Registration Cost:
Register by 12 PM, Monday, March 11 for a guaranteed T-shirt.
5K Preregistration: $20
2 Mile Health Walk Preregistration: $15
2 Mile Health Walk Preregistration (6 & Under): $5
(Baby joggers and strollers are allowed on 2 Mile Walk, but not the 5K. )
Pre-registration closes at 5:30 PM, Wednesday, March 13

5K Group Registration Discount: (10 or more):
$15 per person
Group registrations MUST be submitted together. Group representative must submit a registration form and payment for each participant. Groups may be made up of both runners and walkers. Group representative must register group in-person: 1 Shorter Ave.

Race-day Registration
-To register the day of the race, bring your entry form to registration window at Barron Stadium.
- Race Day Registration for 5K & Health: $25
- Race Day registration is open from 11 AM - 12:30 PM

- Showers at the tennis center (located beside Barron Stadium) are available for participants after the race.
