Play an active role in making and keeping Rome and Floyd County beautiful. The Memorial and Honor Gift Tree program offers a unique way to remember family members, honor friends and to celebrate special occasions with the lasting gift of a tree for planting on public property in the city of Rome and designated park spaces throughout Floyd County.

Purchasing a Gift Tree Memorial
A gift tree can be purchased as a memorial or an honorarium, and special notes will be sent to designated individuals, telling them of the gift tree and listing the donor’s name and address. Donors may select a canopy or an understory tree, the desired planting location, or simply indicate, “where needed.” General memorial and honor gift contributions in any amount may also be made, and are pooled to fund the purchase of trees, shrubs, and plants where needed throughout the community. Notification is provided for these gifts and are mailed immediately.

The Planting of Gift Trees
Trees are planted in November, December, and January only. Gifts must be received before November 1st fortrees to be planted during these months. Gifts received after this date will be held and used to plant trees the following year. The City of Rome, Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, and Citizens For Better Parks reserves the right to hold plantings if needed with respect to water availability. Once the gift tree is planted, the donor and designated individuals will receive documentation of its planting date, type and location with GPS coordinate.
