New Ridge Ferry Park Playground Now Open

The new playground at Ridge Ferry Park is open and ready for use. Crews completed construction on the playground over the weekend and have removed the barriers, allowing people to come out and enjoy the new equipment.

The new playground was part of the 2017 SPLOST Package. Construction began with the removal of old equipment in August. The new playground equipment, including the centerpiece which is a replica of Rome’s famed Clocktower, arrived in mid October and construction has been ongoing.

“We’re super excited to have the playground finished and ready for everyone to come out and enjoy it,” RFPRA Director Todd Wofford says. “We’re going to have a ribbon cutting soon, but we wanted to make sure that everyone knows it’s open before the holidays.”

Everyone is invited to the official ribbon cutting for the playground set for Monday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at Ridge Ferry Park.
