POWERADE Power Dash 5k and Glow Walk

Start and Finish Location: Ridge Ferry Park on gravel trail in front of the Coca-Cola stage. 


Run: The 5K is set to start at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Glow Walk: The glow walk is set to start at approximately 7:35 p.m.


Race Certification: The 5K course is in the process of being certified. Once that is done, your time can serve as a Peachtree Road Race qualifying time.


Registration: Registration is now open. You can register online at or visit 1 Shorter Avenue to register in person. The cost for the 5K is $25 and the cost for the glow walk is $20. Registration closes on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 11 p.m. After Sept. 19, late registration can only be done in person at 1 Shorter Avenue. Late registration costs are $40 for the 5K and the glow walk.

Race News: All relevant race news will be posted on our web site at and our social media accounts at Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Race news will also be sent to the email address used for race registration, so be sure to use an email address you can access. Groups will have an email sent to the group member who registered them and that person will be responsible for contacting the group members of any changes.

Group Registration: We offer a discount for groups of 20 or more, who register for the walk or run. Group Registration closes on Friday, Sept. 17. There is no late registration for groups.


Group registration cost is $15 for the walk and $20 for the run. The group discount will not apply during half-off week, however everyone in the group can register at the half-off price.

One person in the group will be responsible for packet pick-up and communication should race times, walk times or events change.

Groups with 20 or more registered walkers or runners can have their packets and race shirts delivered to their business. That group’s packets, numbers and shirts will be boxed or bagged and delivered on Wednesday, Sept. 22. It is the group’s responsibility to distribute the packets once they have been dropped off. We can only deliver to businesses in Rome. Those groups who qualify for delivery need to contact by Friday, Sept. 17 to set up a time.


​​Packet Pickup: Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host packet pick-up on Friday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in our offices at 1 Shorter Avenue. ​​ There will be limited race day packet pick up available for those registered runners and walkers who can’t make it to the office and let us know via email at

Walk Details:  The walk consists of portions of a gravel path and paved trail surface within Ridge Ferry Park. The distance is approximately 1.7 miles and will not be timed. Dogs on a leash are allowed during the walk, but walkers must clean up after their pet.


Run Details: The run consists of portions of gravel path as well as paved trails within Ridge Ferry Park. The course is flat and fast with only one true hill. Due to trail size we ask anyone wanting to use a baby jogger to start at the back of the running pack. While we love our four-legged friends, dogs are not allowed to participate in the 5K race.

Starting Line: The starting area will be marked to help with social distancing and there will be several trash cans to allow runners or walkers to toss disposable masks before they start.


Post Race: There will be plenty of Powerade and water on the concrete pad in front of the Coca-Cola Stage at Ridge Ferry Park as well as lots of glowing lights and music.


Water: We are planning to have one water station at this time, however if COVID restrictions increase we may not be able to have this.


Awards: The top three finishers in their age groups as well as the first overall male and female, first overall male and female master’s runners and first overall male and female grandmasters runner receive awards. The awards ceremony will start at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Age Groups: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Weather, COVID or other issues: All attempts will be made for the race and walk to run as scheduled. This is a rain or shine event. The race and walk are adhering to current COVID protocols. If the race has to be postponed for a weather event or new COVID protocols released by the government, we will schedule a make-up day and time and communicate this information through media channels, our social media accounts, our website and via the email address registrants entered on their forms.
