“Shag” Williams Park is commonly referred to as Shannon Park and houses the Shannon Scout Cabin and the new recreation center addition.  The park was named in honor of Shag Williams for his commitment to the community and to the park. 

 

Shag was the first scout master at the park and also gave of his carpentry and architectural skills in the rebuilding of the Scout Cabin through three different iterations.

 

A recreation center addition to the Scout Cabin was added in 2010 and serves as the fourth iteration of the building now known as the Shannon Recreation Center. The center has convenient access to tennis courts, covered basketball courts, ball fields, playground and pavilion.
