Break out the largest pot you have, grab a few friends, your best chili recipe and get ready to compete in the 2023 Chili-Fest Cook Off presented by Georgia Power.
The event is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 at Ridge Ferry Park and registration for cook teams is now open. Teams can register for $50 for a chance to win trophies, cash prizes and the coveted championship belt. A panel of judges will decide the overall winners, while local chili connoisseurs have a chance to sample everyone’s chili and vote on who they think is the best.
The event is open to the public and features numerous arts and crafts vendors, food, a car show and of course chili. There is no entry fee to the event, but it does cost $5 to park. If you want to take part in sampling and voting on the chili, a $5 voting armband is required. If you want to sample chili, also make sure you get to the park early as sample bracelets for the 2022 event sold out in less than two hours.
To register a team, go to rfpra.com/chilifest and download the application or visit our main office at 1 Shorter Ave. For all questions or information regarding Chili-Fest, contact Lindsey Jones at JonesL@floydcountyga.org.
We are also seeking a couple of food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, businesses or others who are looking to get their name out to the public. If you are interested in being a vendor, visit rfpra.com/chilifest for more information.
