Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority is teaming up with two local college softball programs to bring free skills sessions to players age 6 to 12.
On Monday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m., Georgia Highlands College’s softball coaches and players will hold a softball skills clinic at Alto Park Upper Fields, focusing on hitting, pitching, throwing, base running, fielding and more. The clinic is free and players are encouraged to bring their gloves and bats.
During the month of September, every Wednesday afternoon at 6 p.m., Shorter University’s softball coaches and players will hold special softball skills night sessions at Alto Park Lower Fields for kids ages 6 to 12. The free sessions will work on building the player’s fundamental softball skills

The dates for the softball skills sessions are set for Sept. 4, Sept. 11, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25. For more information, please contact Jay Houston at houstonj@floydcountyga.org.
