Help ring in the New Year by lacing up your best walking shoes and taking part in our New Year’s Day hike at Lock and Dam Regional Park on Friday, January 1 at 9 a.m.
Hikers will assemble in the parking lot of the Coosa River Trading Post before embarking on one of two possible hiking options. Friendly dogs are more than welcome to accompany hikers.
The interactive hikes cover approximately two miles along the Coosa River and meanders through the Coosa River Nature Preserve.
Be sure to bring a camera to record the scenery and the fun times. After the trek, all hikers are invited to join us for hot chocolate.
There will also be a birdhouse installation by the Boy Scout Pack 113 at the primitive campground.
There is a $5 fee collected before the hike. Weather in January can be a bit tricky so be sure to check the weather forecast and come prepared. For more information, contact us at 706.291.0766.
