Lock and Dam Park and Store Reopens

The weather is great, the fish are biting and the campsites are open and ready for everyone to come out and enjoy the great outdoors.

Lock and Dam Park and Campground officially reopens the trading post store and campsite rentals on Friday, May 29. Campers can call 706.234.5001 to reserve a camp site.

Several camp sites have been refurbished or are in the process of being refurbished. The trading post store has also had some improvements. Campers and fishermen can purchase food and beverages, fishing supplies and bait during store hours Monday through Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“There were a few renovations and some repairs that needed to be done, so we’ve had our crews hard at work during the past couple of months,” RFPRA Director Todd Wofford says. “We’ve already had a lot of fishermen come out the past couple of weeks, since we reopened the park. We can’t wait to welcome back the campers.”

Check out for camp sites is 11 a.m. daily, and check in is from 2 to 5 p.m. For more information about Lock and Dam and all of its offerings, please visit rfpra.com.
